The holidays...

Thursday, August 28, 2008

I love the holidays! No matter how long they are. As long as I do not need to wake up early.. I'm happy. I'm just not a morning person. I hate waking up in the morning, except if there's something that I actually WANT to do. I like school, and I do not like school. It's considered something I do not like waking up for. But I don't have a choice!

Anyways, the previous holidays, which was a week long (last week) was blissful :]
Went to several places: National Museum, Petrosains (that was before the hols, but i loved it!), National Science Museum and Aquaria!

Let the pics do the talking!

Last night in tuition, Miss Loo was talking about genital mutiliation in tuition last night. It was DISGUSTING! But, it is something we should be aware about. It happens to ALL girls in Somalia, where it's a tradition.
ALL ABOUT IT: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Female_genital_cutting
(read at own risk!)
There's also all kinds of abuse in the world! Such as physical, sexual, mental abuse. and I'm free from them.

I'm very grateful that God did not put me in some country like Somalia, or a home where abuse is present.
I'm grateful he even gave me a home to live in, clothes to wear, food to eat, books to read, TV to watch, money to spend etc
I'm also grateful to have such an awesome Heavenly father like God, who protects me and guides me in whatever I do. Most importantly, He died on the cross to save me. And rose again :]

Congrats Lee, Phelps & Adlington!

YAYYY congrats to Malaysian badminton player, Lee Chong Wei, for helping Malaysia win at least.. a medal, in Beijing Olympics. HAHA last night my whole family (auntie, uncle, grandparents, parents, cousins, bro) all sat in front of the TV to see the badminton match while eating dinner. So kan cheong! Unfortunately, I had to go at the last rounddd!!! Just a few more points and he'll win!! But I had to go for piano class, so no choice. I was praying for him in the car!

After that I found out, LEE CHONG WEI WON! Finally, Malaysia wins something. He's the first Malaysian badminton singles player to reach an Olympic final. Chong Wei will now take on Lin Dan from China for the finals, TOMORROW. Even if he loses (touch wood!), he'll take home a silver medal. All the best Chong Wei! We'll be supporting you :]

And also.. Michael Phelps! I enjoy watching swimming also, to see how bad I am at it xD The dude's really fast!! 50.58 seconds! Butterfly some more! Butterfly stroke is not easy man. Requires lots of practice! I can't do it very well. I can't pull my hands as high as his. But, practice makes perfect! Who knows.. maybe I'll break his record someday. HAHA!

So as Rebecca Adlington from Britain. She broke the oldest record in swimming (since 1989)! Congratulations :)!!

Little girl in Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony; I had a bad day.

Thursday, August 14, 2008

This year's Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony was breathtaking! After watching the opening ceremony, I felt very proud because I was a Chinese. HAHA!

But the unbelievable thing about it, was the very cute 9 -year old little girl, Lin Miaoke. You heard her sing then. But to those who didn't know what the real story was.. it wasn't her who sang it. She was lip-syncing! The real little girl who sang the song was 7-year old Yang Peiyi. They replaced Peiyi with Miaoke just because Peiyi had buckteeth and wasn't 'cute' enough. And it was so last-minute! She was told 15 minutes before the event started that she was going to be replaced by someone 'cuter'.

On your left is Peiyi, and right is Miaoke. Peiyi is quite cute what, although yes... Miaoke is cuter. But I feel very sorry for Peiyi, although I admit the event was very nice! The people organizing this are too concerned about perfection! Nothing is perfect anyways.

Today was a very very very very bad day. SIGH, forgot to bring the Taekwando exam form, which means I'm not going to take the exam and have to wait for months to take another one. I remember Feli being white belt, and I was blue.. now she's going to be red, and I'm red!! I feel so darn stupid. Other stuff also happened. Argh I feel so much pressure. So tired till I fell asleep doing my essay just now. AND I STILL HAVE TIME TO BLOG?!?!

The only thing happy today was going to Petrosains. I went to Petrosains with schoolmates. It was very fun, although it was my 7th time going. I'll post about it when I get the pictures. SIGH.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [Matthew 11:28-29]

I just found out cooking isn't easy.

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Today had cooking competition in school. GOSH i thought it was easy, just cooking mee goreng! What can possibly be so hard?! Ahh.. that's where I went wrong.

I was in a team with Joanne & Goh! Both of them look so pro in cooking. Goh asked me to peel the garlic and I peeled them so slowly (it's actually because I don't know how to peel garlic skin). Slicing chicken! I got the chicken on the chopping board and wanted to slice it already, but didn't know how to slice. So Joanne took over. Then there's also slicing chili, which I also can't do. I can't even open a new bottle of thick soya sauce! Then I asked Pn. Chong and she scolded me saying I follow her in ERT, why can't I open it. Aiyayai. She didn't even teach us how to open new bottles of thick soya sauce!

I only had to stir fry the mee and help decorate the end results of our mee goreng. And it actually tasted pretty good :) Just needed a bit more chili sauce. Pan, Jen Ying & Man Ling made their mee goreng look like.. spaghetti. IT'S MEE GORENG, NOT SPAGHETTI :P! It was definitely a fun experience. Very tensed, but nice!

Geografi folio haven't finished yet.. deadline on Friday. Seni kerja mingguan, deadline Thursday morning (which reminds me of the Petrosains school trip!!!!). SIGH so much to do, so little time. GOD HELP ME!

Also watching Moonlight Resonance. I'm on episode 5. So grateful to the person who uploaded alot of the episodes on CR. THANK YOU! The show's very interesting! Still can't say whether Heart of Greed is better though.

Passion KL #2!!!!!

I'm still pretty awestruck. I learnt and realized that I cannot say 'Later' or 'No' to God. If not, He wouldn't even be God!

I like the intro video. I can hear people screaming in response to the words flashing here and there in the video. And the sudden bright light that shone at the pianist. Everything was so cool!

Here it is, if anyone wants to watch it (credits to the person who uploaded it!):

Then Chris & Charlie went on stage to perform. Ohh man I didn't care whether I had a good voice or not, I just sung my heart out that night!! When I started to ponder upon the lyrics of the songs, I started to cry. I have never really cried for a song before.. and it felt awesome. It felt like God working in every single one of us that night. It's not about Chris, or Charlie or even Louie that night. It was about God.

PASSION Kuala Lumpur!!!

Passion KL was so so so so so so awesome!!!!! I really really miss last night.
It was one of the best nights I had! I think it IS the best night i've ever had! It was held @ the Sunway Convention Center.
I was singing, screaming & jumping my heart out! Felt so free xD
I have no idea why I cried. It was just too emotional! It was probably when I pondered upon the songs' lyrics. Very meaningful :)

We had to wait at the escalator, we had to wait at the entrance as well. waited for about a few hours, but the waiting was so worth it!
Sung lots of songs! Sing, Sing, Sing, Amazing Grace (Chris Tomlin version), Indescribable, Jesus Messiah, Mighty To Save, Marvelous Light etc.
Sadly, our group was kind of like separated, but at least we still could see each other cause we weren't so far away from each other.

Chris Tomlin, Charlie Hall (& their team) and Louie Giglio was there :] They didn't even look tired! Especially Louie. ARGH I regretted not bringing a camera. But Andrea took lots of pictures and videos. I'll just wait for hers and post them up another time!

Louie's sermon.. once again touched hearts! Especially when he read from Ashley's journal. Now she's in heaven with God :]

AND they were selling albums & T-shirts. The T-shirt was so niceee! I wanted to buy but it's RM60. I didn't even have RM1!! I didn't know I would buy something there. The shirt was so nice! SERIOUSLY!

So far, I have these pictures from 268blog (the official Passion blog):

i'm probably somewhere behind there :]

the blog entry on Passion KL received 215 comments from last night till now (3:05 pm), that's awesome! God really made this event very very successful.

They should come again some time! But I got sick and am now having fever. The concert must've been too 'high'. But I don't mind :) I had a great time! It would be so nice if all of them (Chris Tomlin, David Crowder Band, Charlie Hall, Matt Redman etc) came! Very grateful at least they had their world tour here in KL! I'll be praying for Jakarta! They will definitely have a great time like we did :) To God be all the glory. God bless them throughout the whole tour!

oh! and i got a new header :D
i'll reply tags later! currently too sick to reply them.
