Going to camp soon!

Sunday, May 25, 2008

i'm going to youth camp in El Sanctuary, Malacca soon so leave your msgs at the cbox, and i shall reply... after the camp. Which is 1st or 2nd June? HAHA!

Speaking about camp, let me just introduce everyone to my church youth camp, 4:12 Revolution. Motto, DARE TO BE DIFFERENT.
Official memory verse: Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity. (1 Tim 4:12). This is the 2nd Metamorphosis Camp, the first one was held in 2006 which I attended too! This is going to be.. a blast!

yikes having church event coming up on June 1st, the day Gigi comes to Malaysia to promote the Bio-essence products. But I HEARD that it is canceled because she is going to Sichuan to help bring water supply for the relief of the Sichuan earthquake. Oh pictures of her at the "TVB's All Star Silent Tribute" event on the 19th of May .

Gigi (and other casts of gospel movie) praying.

Gigi and a few of the casts of gospel movie.

Gigi & Moses attended The 20th HKFDA Annual Show Best Dressed Personalities Award on 24th May. They won the best dressed personality award. And the best thing is, they won it together. What a coincidence. LOL they're both wearing white and they both look awesome!

Gahhhh! I have a piano & violin performance on 1st June. I'm nervous and I'm not readyyy! I don't have time to practice it since I have camp. Leaves me only a few days to practice. I'm not prepared!

School holidays are finally here!

Friday, May 23, 2008

yayyyyy the school holidays are here! but of course till after 2 weeks, we have to go back to school. But i bet it'll just pass in a blink of an eye. Darn!

anyways, i felt really sleepy (and bored) today, and somehow i crossed this funny video everyone should watch

it's the video where the HK celebrities came to Malaysia for the Astro Wah Lai Toi Awards 2007 in mid-January this year. It's about them, well on their way to the hotel and preparing themselves for the function. And Gigi won one of the most prestigious awards, Best Actress & Favourite Character award. wooohoooo I can't believe I saw my friend cheering for Gigi with that big Gigi Lai cardboard thingie. So lucky she got to go!

Never underestimate natural disasters.

Gigi Lai get’s emotional while fund-raising for the earthquake relief

Gigi Lai attended the Telford Shopping Plaza for the event “震動人心全城緊急救援大行動” to help raise money for the Sichuan earthquake relief. Ever since Gigi had become a Christian she has been heavily involved in charity work. Also due to often working in Mainland China Gigi feel’s very concerned about the earthquake victims. While on stage Gigi became emotionally teary and said “Since the Sichuan earthquake I have been emotionally influenced by the Hong Kong citizens who have been helping to fund raise for the victims of the earthquake. It will take along time to rebuild their buildings but I hope that people will continue to help them and not forget about them in the long run”. Gigi expressed that she had been to Sichuan a year ago for a store opening. She misses the fresh relaxing atmosphere and the food variety. Her friends who live in Sichuan have been in contact with her and are safe and well.

Originally Gigi was planning to visit Guizhou but due to the earthquake she has decided to rearrange her schedule. “I am very worried about the conditions in Guizhou because it is very near Sichuan. Also the telecommunication services there have been affected making it difficult to know what the current situation is”.

Gigi's such a kind-hearted person. Goshhhh so happy she received salvation :)

NARNIA (PC) WAS AWEEESOME; my review.

Saturday, May 17, 2008

The movie was awesome. The music was awesome. The storyline was awesome. The message was awesome.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

Well in my opinion, it could've been the best movie ever made!! LOL. They kept quite faithful to the book. But they did add a few extra scenes. Imagine. The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe was soooo amazing. This was better!

The Pevensies' once again, were brilliant. I was amazed by Lucy's performance!! She was so cute and innocent. Susan's as well. She remained brave. LOL the part in the beginning with her and some boy was really funny. She told him her name was Phyllis but after that, Lucy then called her, spoiling Susan's plan of getting rid of the boy. Edmund definitely changed for the better. Peter changed for the worse O.O. He became more arrogant, just like the site (The Dancing Lawn) said. But he repented at the end. Miraz's and Caspian's performance were very good as well. Sergio Castellitto portrayed his character so well. He was soo cruel. Ben Barnes as Prince Caspian was as good!

It's also got a little love story inside between Susan & Caspian. They keep locking eyes. But at the end they had their kiss :)

And about the White Witch, when I watched the trailer I was quite surprised to see her there. I don't remember her in the book (I only read it once so i'm not sure, cause I lost the whole huge book *slaps head*). But they were trying to build suspense, which I felt in a great amount at that particular scene!!!!

I loved the religious theme in the movie. Especially at the end, where Aslan asked whether anyone would like to live in that 'place', it is especially for those who plan to start a whole new life. IMO, it also represents God asking us whether we want salvation. The General and Miraz's wife&baby said they did. That was really touching. In reality, it's like accepting God's salvation. And the sad thing was, Peter & Susan can't return to Narnia anymore, cause they're too old. awww man. I really want them to feature in the new still-filming movie, TCON: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. But they aren't I guess.

All in all, I really loved the movie. REALLY LOVED IT. It was kinda more than I expected. The graphics/special effects were really cool! C.S. Lewis is sooo smart and creative. I actually lost the book while reading one of the books at the end. Can barely remember which book I read last. Darn! Anyways, 5/5 stars for PC!!!

found some 'You're watching Disney Channel' bumpers by Georgie (Lucy) & Skandar (Edmund)! Georgie's one is really cute!!!

Muahahaha decided to get a new banner since I was free. Gigi posted loads of gospel movie filming pictures in her blog, why not use it. I love those two pictures with her peace pose. Thought I could blend it together and make it look like 2 friends, holding up peace signs!
This is currently B.2 (Banner 2). Many more to come i guess. Oh yeah for more pretty pictures or info on the gospel movie, please visit these sites:

Look what I'm listening to now! I finally found the song <3. It's a very meaningful song. The title & lyrics itself are meaningful.!

This is Home by Switchfoot
I've got my memories
They're always
Inside of me
But I can't go back
Back to how it was
I believe now
I've seen too much
But I can't go back
Back to how it was
Created for a place
I've never known

Chorus:
This is home
Now I'm finally
Where I belong
Where I belong
Yeah, this is home
I've been searching
For a place of my own
Now I've found it
Maybe this is home
Yeah, this is home

Belief over misery
I've seen the enemy
And I won't go back
Back to how it was
And I got my heart
Set on
What happens next
I got my eyes wide
It's not over yet
We are miracles
And we're not alone

And now after all
My searching
After all my questions
I'm gonna call it home
I got a brand new mindset
I can finally see
The sunset
I'm gonna call it home

Now I know
Yeah, this is home

I've come too far
Now I won't go back
This is home

Opinions on exam (14th May)

Wednesday, May 14, 2008

You must be wondering.. why is Carmen posting so much in her blog lately? Well most of them are on exams, and I want to keep these experiences as memories :) Bad or good.. doesn't matter.

Maths Paper 1
I thought it would be super hard. But it was pretty okay. No guarantees I'll get 35 & above correct though.
Thank God and the calculator!

Maths Paper 2
I stinked in this one. Without the calculator, I don't know whether my answer is right or not since it's subjective. Sighhh I hope I don't get so many mistakes for this!

Geografi

OHMYGOSH i hate this paper!!!! I didn't know how to answer most of the 60 questions. 60!!!!! I admit I wasn't paying much attention to Geografi. I thought that Maths would be harder, but it was easier. Soooo didn't study Geografi that much, and the results are... don't know how to answer. I just found out I have.. 3-4 mistakes. How many more are there?!

Sejarah Folio *extra*
it's due this Friday (Actually it's due Tuesday but I don't think I wanna go to school on that day). I don't think I
can finish it in time. I haven't even write the 'Sejarah Sekolah' yet! I don't know how to. I need help. I also haven't binded the thing yet. Or finish my visi & misi sekolah. I always forget to copy it down in school! Now I think I have to go to school on Tuesday then O.O

Opinions on exam (12th May)

Monday, May 12, 2008

BM Paper 1:
BM was okay! Not too easy not too hard. But I made this one stoopid careless mistake. It's about the bendahara speaking to the sultan, and they gave you choices. I chose 'hamba', which was wrong O.O It was suppose to be 'patik' for goodness sake! buhbye marks :(

BM Paper 2:
I hated this paper the most. Especially the 'komsas' part. Thanks to Mun Yen for telling me that 'pengajaran' might come out (which it did!). But I was still pretty clueless at the komsas part. Other than 'mentioning 2 pengajarans'.. they asked how are you going to apply those in your life?! I didn't have time. I only had like what... 6 minutes left!!! Sooo I just crapped on the paper. I wrote what just came in my mind. Buhbye 5-10 marks!
Also.. the karangan contoh pilihan one. OHMYGOSH I also crapped my mind out there. I didn't have time once again.. so I just chose (e) which was a laporan on the pertandingan koir peringkat negeri. Since I was timekeeper for this year's, I thought I had enough experience to write that essay. But half way I kinda got stuck. So I crapped.

Sivik:
Sivik was pretty easy! I believe I can get an A for this. I hope.

Next up, English Paper 1, English Paper 2 and Pendidikan Jasmani. I think I have to study more PJ than English XD.

My Top 5 Favourite Activities/Places

Friday, May 2, 2008

Hello. Back with a random post. I'm too bored and lazy to do my piano theory homework. So i'll just blog O.O Too bad blogger doesn't have smilies. I would love smilies in my post :[

My Top 5 Favourite Activities/Places (Not including religious places.. will post on that one next time!)

5. Starbucks with Wireless Internet a.k.a Wi-Fi.

YES people. Starbucks. It's one of the best places to be for me. Why? Because they have great coffee, great atmosphere, and great service. And I would love to bring my labtop there one day to use the wireless internet provided there while drinking their famous-made coffee. Looking forward to that day *wink*

4. Orchestra Hall listening to music.

Classical/Orchestral music! I love listening to them. It's so soothing and relaxing. Especially when you hear it live in an orchestral hall. I salute the musicians! They play so well, i feel like playing like them too. But LOL i can't. The first time I went to an orchestra, is on my 13th Birthday. It was a school trip. Going there was an awesome experience, I shall never forget. But I'll probably forget one day cause I'm really forgetful. ANYWAYS, it'd be better if we were seated nearer to the stage.

3. Shopping with money provided.

As I grow, my hormones start to change. And I admit, I've grown more materialistic and brand-conscious as well. Looking for clothes from the desginer brands which I can afford (Espirit, MNG etc). The best place to look for it all in Malaysia, is KLCC or The Pavilion. If I had Bill Gate's credit card, I'd go wild with shopping. I hate window-shopping. It gives me this guilty, unsatisfied feeling. It'll be a dream if I ever bought a Valentino/Versace attire. So that is why i'm trying my best to achieve this when I grow up.

2. Eating with music.

Picture courtesy of TVB upcoming series, The Gem of Life (2008) :D

Well this does not include eating with a boy :S I'd like to eat with my family/friend in the best restaurants. The picture above was taken in France. I THINK. If you can see the the Arc d'Triumph behind them. So I think it's France. Yeap. Anyways, i find it once again, very soothing to eat and chat in a restaurant while of course, eating. EATING is something I cannot stop doing (what am I talking about, everyone can't stop eating too O.O). I mean, i find eating (of course eating good stuff) something very enjoyable to do. Eating steak, pasta, caviar (want to try!) etc. Here goes my stomach *stomach grumbles*

ARE YOU READY FOR THE #1??!

1. In another country.

Hehe, from the picture above you can see, it's France (Eiffel Tower). Again. It's one of the best places to go for a vacation! But I think i'd enjoy it more if I went to countries like US, Australia, Canada, Italy, France etc. Rather than Vietnam, Phillipines, Singapore which are not very far away. I like sitting in the plane too. But i hate jet lag. I usually have jet lag. So I eat medication before the flight. But sometimes it doesn't work and I end up vomiting (too much info!). Those planes with mini TVs attached to the seat are awesome!!! I can catch up with movies/shows I have never watched yet. For example, I went HK with Cathay Pacific not too long ago. They had 'Ghost Rider' and '200 Pounds Beauty' in the list of movies/shows. I haven't watched Ghost Rider or 200 Pounds Beauty yet! So i watched it there. Yay! And somehow I love the airplane food. It's so delicious xD!

OK, I'm done. I'm tired. I'm lazy. But I know I have to finish my piano theory homework cause it's 5:45 PM now and I have piano at 7:00PM. *sigh* there goes my stomach. again. HUNGRY! lol, buhbye. I'm sleepy too.
